Letter to UK local MP - Brexit

Dear Sir/madam, I am a proud member of the United Kingdom and feel very privileged to have been born and raised in this majestic land.  it is with incredulity that I find myself, and millions of others, exasperated by the political class and the failure to grasp the sentiments of the electorate. I am a proud Unionist and I’m a proud citizen of the United Kingdom. I have seen the country grow from a mediocre nation in world power standings,  to one of the biggest in the world and feel very proud to have been part of that.
Right now, we are in a time of critical decision-making, where all politicians must stand up for democracy,  and must resist those influences and powers that wish to strip us of our livelihoods for their gain.  we cannot continue in the way that our political system has operated in the past 12 to 18 months, which has created a feeling of deep exasperation and irritation in the  failure to implement the 2016 referendum result. I accept that the country is divided on the implementation of the result , but The result must stand and be the obeyed. I’m sure that if you look back in history, all referenda that have been carried out in the UK will have been acted upon according to the result.
This must be the same with article 50 and the requirement to leave the EU as prescribed by all parties in their manifestoes. I believe that only good will come from the political upheaval that is occurring right now and as we look back at what was coined as the ‘Arab Spring’we are now having a ‘British spring of  discontent’.
I have heard, seen and listened first-hand to the accounts of many people who feel manipulated by the shenanigans that have occurred in the Houses of Parliament. a trusted democracy such as the United Kingdom must act to preserve the interests of our nation. the NI/Irish backstop is a toxic affair that has been used incredibly well by the EU as a lever to disrupt our nation and our political system. This has to be changed to a time limited back stop. we as a nation are incredible innovators, researchers, enthusiasts, pragmatic manufacturers and are a benchmark for systems delivery, worldwide. we have shown the world how to create and nurture people,Products, systems and services and we are at the forefront of the technological revolution. we must not fail in our duty to deliver on the 2016 referendum result. it would be a travesty of historic proportions and the electorate will respond accordingly therefore I implore that all politicians look at what their constituents are saying, look at what is best for the country and find a way to deliver on the absolute narrative of the 2016 referendum and its context. thank you and I look forward to leaving the EU before the 22nd of May and for us to move forward as a nation in these troubled political times.
